Authentic leaders inspire, empower, and build trust among people. Doing so requires perceiving, interacting with, motivating, and assessing people, as well as engaging in conflict. Many of us have been on the receiving end of “power over” approaches to authority and may unconsciously rely on these same models as we take on leadership positions. Growing as an authentic leader often means needing to replace these inherited habits with a new model—a “power with” model.

In this two-hour interactive and experiential workshop, Gregg Kendrick, will provide participants with a direct experience of what it means to be an authentic leader operating on a “power with” model of leadership. Participants will come away with:

• An understanding of leadership and organizational structures that support cultural change
• An approach to interpersonal conflict based in human needs
• New or improved skills in perceiving and valuing human needs in the workplace
• Strategies for moving from unconscious reaction to conscious response
• Approaches to connecting in the midst of conflict
