Bridges out of Poverty

Do you and your team serve those who live in poverty? If you do, you know the importance of building cultural competence within your staff, and establishing trust with those you provide assistance to. Join CNE and Carol Lee to learn key lessons in working with individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Participants will leave this workshop with:

  • An awareness of the differences in economic cultures and how those differences affect opportunities for success.
  • An understanding of the “hidden rules” of economic class, language disparities, and how these differences impact education and employment prospects.
  • Strategies for breaking the cycle of poverty and approaches to engaging clients to actively participate in defining steps they will want to take for their families.

Participants will receive a copy of the book, Bridges Out of Poverty Training Supplement, an indispensable tool for any group being trained in Bridges Out of Poverty concepts.

Service providers, teachers, community members, and nonprofit staff who serve those living in poverty are encouraged to attend.
