UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy pairs local nonprofit organizations with current Batten students to perform a professional-quality policy study as part of their capstone Applied Policy Project (APP). Under faculty supervision, the students review the policy question presented, survey relevant data and literature, and provide statistical analysis as needed. The students then evaluate solutions based on criteria such as cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and sustainability, and provide suggestions for a path forward as well as suggestions for implementation.

Batten will be inviting nonprofit organizations to submit RFPs to be considered as clients. Please consider attending this information session to learn more about what kind of policy questions would be a good fit for the program, what will be expected of your organization, and how to submit the RFP.
