The mission of the Emma Barnsley Foundation, which is administered by Wells Fargo, is to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals and the study, care, protection, and preservation of animals, both domestic and wild, and their environment. To that end, the foundation awards grants of up to $20,000 to nonprofit organizations to aid and assist in the prevention of cruelty to animals; to aid and assist in the care, protection, and preservation of animals and the environment in which they live; to assist institutions of higher learning in Texas in the operation and maintenance of courses of study in veterinary medicine and in the study of animals and animal life; to provide scholarships for the study of veterinary medicine at any institution of higher learning in Texas; and to support research projects involving ecological, environmental, and wildlife studies.
