Key Programs

Program 1
Title:Leadership Louisa
Description:Leadership Louisa fosters leadership potential in the local community to ensure positive growth and development of the Louisa County Region.
Leadership Louisa encourages participants to develop the skills and access resources needed to provide the leadership to address community needs.

Leadership Louisa enhances understanding of the complex issues facing the Louisa community through:

Educational programs designed to broaden knowledge of the area, and increase awareness of community processes, programs and problems.
Exposure to local government, economic, social and political organizations, as well as the local education system, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Introductions to community leaders and local decision makers.
Program 2
Title:Nonprofit Cooperative
Description:The Nonprofit Cooperative provides opportunities for nonprofit organizations to network and form collaborative relationships with for-profit chamber members. Recurring events include the annual Nonprofit Summit, grant writing classes and Louisa County Impact Awards.
Program 3
Title:Explore Main Street Louisa
Description:Fall 2021, the Town of Louisa formally joined the Virginia Main Street (VMS) network and became an Exploring Main Street (EMS) community. Administered by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD), VMS, a preservation-based economic and community development program, follows the Main Street Approach by the National Main Street Center. VMS offers a range of services and assistance to communities interested in revitalizing their historic commercial districts.

The Louisa Forward Foundation (LFF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiated by the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce, serves as the lead organization working with a volunteer steering committee. Their efforts will focus on creating improved economic opportunity downtown and enhancing quality of life through community-driven revitalization efforts.
