Mission Statement
Wildlife Rescue League's mission is to support the rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and, through education, to foster appreciation of our wild neighbors.
Key Programs
Program 1 |
Title: | Wildlife Helpline |
Description: | Helpline volunteers take calls from the public about wildlife related issues and provide advice and referrals to licensed wildlife rehabilitators to get sick, injured and orphaned animals the help they need. |
Examples of Program Success: | The helpline took over 5,300 calls from the public in 2020 about wildlife related issues. Advice was provided to help the caller determine if the animal was exhibiting normal behavior and needed to be left alone, or if it seemed to be sick, injured or orphaned and required the help of a wildlife rehabilitator. Volunteer transporters picked up wildlife in need of help from partner veterinarians and delivered it to a network of wildlife rehabilitators. |
