Sarah Mullen
Title: Director
Sarah holds an undergraduate degree in English and Art History from the University of North Carolina, as well an MA (ABD) in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the Director of Campaign Initiatives in the Office of Advancement at UVA’s School of Engineering, where she manages a team of three. Together they focus on engagement, donor relations, communications, and Engineering’s involvement in UVA’s Honor the Future capital campaign. Sarah is also the School’s primary liaison with the University of Virginia Engineering Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and she credits CNE’s Board Academy (Class of 2015) with her ability to perform this role effectively. Prior to joining the Engineering School’s advancement team, Sarah worked in development at the Fralin Museum of Art and Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband, Matt Hedstrom, a professor of American Studies and Religious Studies at UVA, and their black Lab, Wrigley.
