Collaboration for Social Change

Each of us may have a slightly different definition for what a nonprofit organization does. Still, we can all agree that nonprofits meet a need within a community. When nonprofits and their community partners join together to work on a particular issue, the potential to meet needs can grow exponentially. And that is one way to define collaboration.

The 2019 CNE Survey of Nonprofits reflects that 84% of participating organizations are engaged in at least one collaboration with 96% of those nonprofits writing that the collaboration adds value to their work and 95% sharing that this work allows their organization to have greater impact on the community.

At CNE, collaboration is one of our core values, so we integrate it into our Board Academy curriculum, we partner with other community stakeholders to develop solutions to issues, and we engage through an an experiential learning lab we call CoLab. With our Collaboration Roadmap, trainings, Power of Partnership (PoP) Talks, and consulting we support organizations as they come together to create social change.

Senior Consultant Mary Davis Hamlin engages with groups large and small as they work to develop and maintain effective partnerships that make our communities stronger. If you are interested in learning more about how collaboration can help your nonprofit achieve a goal, join her on August 28 from 9 —10:30 a.m. at CNE for the next PoP Talk!
