Are You On the Right Path?

January 18, 2018

If we could first know where we are, and whither we are tending, we could better judge what to do, and how to do it.” Abraham Lincoln

In order to align expectations and goals, it’s important to regularly evaluate and assess where you are and where you hope to be.

For nonprofit organizations, an ongoing performance evaluation and assessment process can clarify roles and responsibilities, ensure strategic alignment between performance and the achievement of strategy and mission, and foster the growth and development of the organization and those who power it.

There are a lot of tools out there to assist with performance evaluation and assessment for boards, for Executive Directors, for staff, and for an organization as a whole. And a tool that’s a good fit for one organization may not be right for another. Ultimately though, the tool used is less important than the process of setting aside time to reflect, discuss, learn, set goals, and make a plan forward.

CNE can assist you with an organizational assessment and a framework to discuss where your organization is and hopes to be. In our program, Pathway to a Healthy Organization, nonprofits engage in a self-assessment. CNE consultants carefully review and analyze the results and compile them into an organizational report that identifies strengths and opportunities and makes recommendations for future development.
