Board service is calling!
CNE’s Board Academy provides a broad overview and a detailed study of all aspects of nonprofit board service. Participants graduate from this three-month program prepared to share their “intellectual capital,” whether new to a board, seeking a position, or a long time member. In addition, Board Academy provides community networking and board recruitment opportunities.
Nonprofit board experience can help senior managers strengthen their leadership skills and connections with high-powered players.

While board service is often complimentary to the job you are committed to, unexpected collaborations and careers can emerge. Board members learn to be better partners, better managers, and better contributors. Board academy is the first step in an education that continues to step up once serving the board.
These not-for-profit board experiences can then become talking points in business, in job interviews, and at dinner tables with colleagues. You become a more interesting, well-rounded and respected person, not only for volunteering your time to a worthy cause, but also by expressing who you are in a meaningful way, thereby further developing your leadership skills.
– Stuart R. Levine, Forbes
CNE is accepting applications to its 2017 Board Academy through January 15. To learn more RSVP for one of our free, lunchtime information sessions, Tuesday, 11/1/16, Thursday, 11/10/16, or Wednesday, 11/16/16.
Please spread the word to those that serve on boards, those that might be interested, and those seeking to nominate new talent for service.
