Foster a Culture of Philanthropy

April 06, 2016

Are you motivated to generate a culture of philanthropy within your organization?

A culture of philanthropy is one which everyone – board, staff, and executive director – plays a role in raising resources. It is not just about money, but about relationships. Important questions on building this culture are raised in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, questions that we at CNE continually seek to address.

When a Culture of Philanthropy is championed, our experience is that a ripple effect occurs beginning with staff leaders, flowing to board members, and rolling out to community members. Executive Directors lead the way as passionate role models, establishing fundraising at the heart of an organization. Board members in turn take responsibility for modeling this culture within the organization, and along with staff, volunteers, and donors, reflect it out into the greater community. This transformation is most easily achieved with a clear mission, with an understanding that fundraising is noble work, and a vision of the culture that everyone can get behind.

Let CNE help you to build your culture of philanthropy with our upcoming Trainings, including Transforming Fundraising Efforts into a Culture of Philanthropy and Trends in Philanthropy.
